When the pulp of your tooth has been infected, inflamed, or is dead, we may recommend root canal therapy to treat your tooth.
Root Canal Therapy is generally needed when the inside of the tooth has been inflamed, infected, or is dead. In an attempt to save the tooth, the dentist will clean out the pulp of the tooth as well as remove the bacteria and decay. After the area is cleaned thoroughly, the root of the tooth will be restored to prevent the infection from reoccurring. Our dentist will normally recommend having a crown placed over top of the root canal treatment. This crown will help protect the tooth and prevent it from breaking.
After care instructions will be given by the dental staff at the time of your visit. Good regular hygiene practices and visits to our office will help in the life of the root canal treatment.
