Check-Up & Clean
at Greenbank Family Dental

Gentle care. Lasting smiles. A clean you can feel.

At Greenbank Family Dental, we believe prevention is the foundation of lifelong oral health. Our comprehensive check-up and clean appointments are designed to detect issues early, remove harmful build-up, and leave your smile feeling refreshed and healthy. Whether it’s your child’s first visit or your fiftieth, we tailor each appointment to your needs—with warmth, professionalism, and clarity every step of the way.

Comprehensive Dental Examination

We don’t just check your teeth—we assess your gums, soft tissues, bite, jaw, and oral cancer risks. Our dentists take the time to explain findings and answer any questions you may have. More.

Digital X-Rays & Intraoral Imaging

As needed, we use low-radiation X-rays and high-definition photos to detect issues that may be hidden from view, including between teeth or beneath the gumline. More.

Professional Cleaning (Scale & Polish)

  • Removal of Calculus (Tartar): This hardened build-up can’t be removed with regular brushing. We gently scale away tartar above and below the gumline.

  • Plaque Removal: We remove soft, bacteria-laden plaque that contributes to inflammation and gum disease.

  • Teeth Polishing: A gentle polish smooths your enamel and removes surface stains for a brighter finish. More.

Fluoride Application

For patients aged 8 and up, we offer a fluoride treatment to help strengthen enamel and prevent decay. It’s quick, effective, and proven to reduce sensitivity and future dental issues. More.

Personalised Oral Hygiene Advice

Not sure if your technique is right? Our team will walk you through brushing and flossing tips based on your needs. Whether you use an electric brush or floss picks, we’ll guide you toward better habits.

Between Visits: Home Care Matters

Brushing

We recommend brushing at least twice a day—especially before bed—using a soft-bristled, ADA-approved or electric toothbrush. Position the brush at a 45-degree angle to the gums and let the bristles do the work.

Flossing

Flossing daily helps prevent cavities and gum inflammation by removing plaque where your brush can’t reach—between teeth and just under the gumline.

Lifestyle Tips

  • Limit sugary and acidic snacks

  • Stay hydrated with water

  • Chew sugar-free gum after meals

  • Avoid smoking or vaping

Why Routine Check-Ups Matter

Even if your mouth feels fine, many dental issues (like gum disease or early decay) are painless in their early stages. Regular check-ups allow us to prevent small concerns from becoming big ones—saving you time, money, and discomfort.
