What a typical visit includes

Depending on whether it’s your first visit with us or a routine recall, the exam may be coded as:

• 011 – Comprehensive Oral Examination: usually at your very first appointment with us, covering your full dental history, complete charting, and a detailed baseline record. or 012 – Periodic Oral Examination: for ongoing visits, focusing on changes since your last check-up, gum health, and any new concerns.

• Scale & Clean (Item 114) – hygienist removes plaque and tartar; polish for that smooth, clean feel.

• Fluoride Treatment (Item 121) – strengthens enamel to help prevent decay.

• Oral Hygiene Advice (Item 141) – tailored tips you can actually stick with.

Sometimes added when clinically needed (quoted first):

• Intra-oral X-rays (Item 022) – check between teeth/under fillings.

• Dental Photographs (Item 072) – monitor changes and explain findings.
