Why fluoride matters

Fluoride is a natural mineral that makes teeth stronger and more resistant to decay. While most people get some fluoride from toothpaste or drinking water, professional fluoride treatments (item 121) provide a higher level of protection — especially important for children, teens, and patients at higher risk of decay.

What happens during a fluoride treatment?

After your clean, a tray or swab is used to apply Flairesse Foam — a professional-strength fluoride.
The foam coats the teeth, penetrating the enamel to make it more resistant to acids and bacteria.
The whole process takes just a few minutes.
You’ll be asked not to eat or drink for 30 minutes afterwards so the fluoride can fully absorb.

Item 121 fluoride treatment is typically $30–$45 when billed separately.
At GFD, it’s often included as part of your Check-Up & Clean appointment.
