“We’re not here to hurt you :)”That’s the first thing Anne wants her patients to know. And in just six months at Greenbank Family Dental, she’s already helped dozens of nervous visitors replace fear with trust—and transformed how they think about dental hygiene.
Anne joined GFD in January 2025, bringing with her not just clinical skill and attention to detail, but a unique ability to connect with patients of all ages. Her calm presence and friendly, no-pressure style make her a favourite for routine cleans—and a role model for what modern hygiene care can feel like.

In Anne’s Words
What inspired you to work in dental health?
“I actually loved going to the dentist as a kid,” Anne laughs. “It was the slickers! I loved the rewards—balloons, goodies—I always looked forward to the prize at the end.”
What moments make you proud to be in this industry?
“When anxious patients come in, and through clear communication and gentle care, they leave happy and confident—that makes my day. A good Google review is the cherry on top!”

What do you love about working at GFD?
“We’re more flexible here. We take the time to connect with our patients—it’s not rushed or forced. That makes everyone more comfortable, and helps us all get on the same page.”
What’s the difference between a dentist clean and a hygienist clean?
“No offence,” she smiles, “but we’re a lot more thorough. Our sole focus is to bring out the best in your teeth!”
What would you say to someone nervous about visiting the dentist?
“We’re not here to hurt you :) Most of the time, the fear comes from past trauma—painful extractions, bad experiences. Those usually come from missed maintenance. We're here to change that.”
What’s next for you?
“I want to stay in hygiene for a few years, and I’m thinking about studying dentistry through a Masters pathway. I love what I do—and I want to keep growing.”
Where ‘Miss Floss Boss’ Was Born
Anne’s sharp clinical eye and fresh perspective led to a lightbulb moment for the entire GFD team.
When asked what trend she was seeing most in patients, Anne didn’t hesitate:
“If there’s one area that will help our patients, it’s including flossing daily in your oral health routine. Many people don’t yet realise the positive impact flossing has on long-term oral health.”
That simple insight inspired the creation of Miss Floss Boss, the animated hero of GFD’s oral health education campaign—designed to make flossing fun, visible, and memorable for kids (and adults).
Anne’s influence on the why behind our patient communication is just one more reason we’re so proud to have her on the team.
Community Care Starts Early
In June 2025, Anne joined Dr Marwa at Guardian Childcare Greenbank for our Captain Clean Tooth presentation—an engaging, educational session that teaches children how to care for their teeth through songs, stories, and hands-on fun.
With a natural gift for connecting with kids, Anne gently guided them through brushing techniques and helped build habits they’ll carry for life.
She’ll soon be joining Dr Dan and Dr Marwa again at Active Kids Greenbank for a parent-focused workshop on early childhood oral health.
