Celebrating verified, award-winning carbon-positive operations — ahead of schedule and powered by our patients and team.
At Greenbank Family Dental, caring for our patients and caring for the planet go hand in hand. Through our Healthy Smiles, Healthy Forests initiative — a key part of our award-winning sustainability commitment — we’re turning everyday dental visits into something much bigger: a growing legacy of cleaner air, restored habitats, and a healthier community.
As of October 2025, that commitment has already achieved something remarkable:
We’ve nearly offset our entire 2025 carbon footprint — months ahead of schedule.
Our latest verified data shows that Greenbank Family Dental has already removed over 30 tonnes of CO₂ through certified Australian reforestation projects, putting us on track to exceed full carbon equivalence by year-end.
Our Commitment to Sustainable Dental Care
Dentistry may seem far removed from environmental impact, but every appointment — from lighting and sterilisation to staff travel, materials, and freight — leaves a small carbon footprint.
That’s why we set a simple but ambitious goal: measure our impact honestly, reduce where we can, and offset the rest through genuine, verified action.
Using Reforest’s sustainability framework, our 2025 operational footprint — covering electricity, waste, freight, products, and staff activity — was measured at 31.5 tonnes of CO₂e. By October, we had already removed 30.8 tonnes of CO₂ through certified Australian reforestation projects.
Every smile now contributes to a cleaner, healthier planet — one patient, one visit, one tree at a time.
Partnering with Reforest: Turning Smiles Into Trees
To bring this goal to life, we partnered with Reforest, an Australian organisation that helps businesses turn carbon commitments into real-world restoration.
Our Healthy Smiles, Healthy Forests dashboard tracks our live impact:
🌳 141 trees planted
🌾 1,407 m² of habitat restored
☁️ 30.8 tonnes of CO₂ removed
These results are verified through Reforest’s scientific models — not estimates. Each tree contributes to long-term carbon removal, ecosystem restoration, and habitat protection.

Our Patients and Team Are Growing the Forest
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to our patients — and to our team — for helping make this milestone possible.
Every referred patient visit helps plant a tree. Every staff day adds purpose to our offset goals.Every contribution helps us grow something that lasts beyond the clinic walls.
Your support doesn’t just grow our practice — it grows a forest.
Even better, every patient can now take part directly:
1️⃣ Nominate a tree in your name
2️⃣ See exactly where it’s planted
3️⃣ Receive updates as it grows and contributes to real carbon removal
How We Measure Our Impact
We keep our sustainability logic simple and transparent. Using Reforest’s verified data model, our total operational footprint for 2025 — including patient visits, staff activity, energy, waste, products, and freight — is 31.5 tonnes of CO₂e.
Our verified 2025 operational footprint is estimated at just over 30 tonnes of CO₂e — measured and validated through Reforest’s sustainability framework.
By October 2025, Greenbank Family Dental had already offset nearly our full annual footprint — achieving carbon-positive operations months ahead of schedule and setting a new benchmark for sustainable healthcare.
We share our footprint data to build accountability and inspire progress — not comparison. Every clinic’s environmental journey looks different, but what unites us is the shared belief that healthcare can give back more than it takes.
A 2025 Sustainability Milestone — Ahead of Schedule
This early achievement confirms that Greenbank Family Dental has not only balanced our environmental footprint but is now operating carbon-positive ahead of schedule.
Every patient visit, every staff day, and every delivery has been offset — and together, we’ve proven that sustainable healthcare is achievable right now, not someday in the future.
Our trees are restoring Australian habitats, improving biodiversity, and supporting the long-term health of our ecosystems.
This milestone isn’t the finish line — it’s a turning point. It reinforces our belief that small, local actions can drive measurable global impact.
Looking Ahead: Growth with Purpose
As our clinic continues to grow — including new treatment spaces and advanced technology — our determination to maintain this environmental standard remains unchanged.
Our next goal is to sustain full offset equivalence through 2026 and beyond, aligning every new chair, every team member, and every patient visit with verified environmental impact.
True progress means expanding care without expanding our footprint.
Grounded in Shared Values
At Greenbank Family Dental, we share the same commitment to responsible healthcare championed by global leaders such as the FDI World Dental Federation, the College of General Dentistry, and the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare — each working to make dentistry more sustainable through education, research, and responsible resource use.
While these organisations provide valuable frameworks for sustainable practice, Healthy Smiles, Healthy Forests reflects how real change can start locally — one tree, one smile, one visit at a time.
Together, We’re Making an Impact
Every referred patient visit helps plant a tree. Every tree helps clean our air. Each one helps our forest grow. And as we grow, our commitment grows too.
Thank you for helping us grow a greener tomorrow — one smile, one referral, and one tree at a time. 💚👉 Track our live progress here.
